Wilbor and Wilcox Families Collection 1848-1970

The Wilbor-Wilcox Collection is a part of the Biographical Collections of the Sandusky Library Archives. This collection offer insight into two families' association with the mercantile and dry goods professions in Sandusky, Ohio during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Items within the collection include receipts of business transactions by the Wilbor and Wilcox Families, family correspondence from 1848 to 1873, and Follett House records and letters from the 1960s detailing these families' socio-economic, military, and civic service to Sandusky and Erie County.

The Wilbor Family Charles Wilbor, Sr., born in Little Compton, Rhode Island on 22 August 1768, and Sarah Handy, born in Connecticut on 13 August 1775, had four children; Naomi (1798-1860), Philander (1802-1875), Charles Jr. (1806-????), and John Borden (1808-1865).
